About
Path Forward Counselling in Muskoka, Ontario
Carol Mason
RP, Clinical Director, MACP, CHRL, BSc.
My passion is helping others. I am here to support you and your family on your journey to improved mental health wellness and spirit. I offer a safe, empathic, strength-based, client-centered approach. The coping strategies you learn, and implement can improve your relationships, self-acceptance, and self-confidence.
I began my professional career as a microbiologist and transitioned into HR which lead me to psychotherapy. I bring to my practice the understanding and knowledge of biology and social norms that can impact the manifestation of mental illness. Using a holistic approach, together we will find solutions that will work for you.

Our Values
It is my goal in creating this website that you will be able to assess who I am and how I practice the skills of psychotherapy.
Many of my clients have commented on my ability to intuitively understand the client's needs this is accomplished by me completely empathically engaging in our conversations and often in our sessions you will find us crying and laughing together while we generate hope for the future. Each client positively touches my life. I am guided in my practice via supervision, peer support, and formal training to ensure my skills remain current and supportive.
I have been supporting couples and families with relationship hiccups and mental health distress. Professionally for the last 3 years however my time as a senior leader both with the science forum and in human resources offered me a continual opportunity for me to support others. This additional wealth of knowledge allows me to bring the biological science and social knowledge that deepens our understanding and creates a holistic approach to healing.
I am in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO) and the College of Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) along with being a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP). You might have guessed I am a lifelong learner.
I grew up in a rural setting in southwestern Ontario on a hobby farm and understand the importance of collaboration while healing through intentional actions. It would be an honor to support you in your journey.
When I am not working, I enjoy time with my husband, children, and their spouses, who have blessed us with the next generation of grandchildren. I thoroughly enjoy nature and all forms of life.
